A platform that lets the story carry the weight

A platform that lets the story carry the weight

Unshakeable is a podcast and personal platform built around Siviwe “Shakes” Soyizwapi, focused on honest conversations around resilience, growth, and lived experience. The goal was to create a digital presence that felt strong but not overproduced, allowing the content, message, and purpose behind the platform to come through clearly.
Starting with the nature of the platform
This project didn’t require something overly polished or complex. The strength of the platform already existed in the story being told and the perspective behind it. The risk was adding too much structure or design and losing that sense of authenticity. The approach focused on protecting what made the platform feel real, rather than trying to enhance it unnecessarily.
Creating clarity through restraint
The visual direction was intentionally minimal and controlled. A monochrome palette, high contrast layouts, and strong typography were used to remove distraction and bring focus to the content. These choices were not about style alone, but about ensuring that the message remained the central point of attention. The design supports the content rather than competing with it.
Designing around content, not pages
Instead of structuring the website as a traditional set of pages, the platform was built around how content is consumed. The podcast sits at the centre of the experience, supported by a live YouTube integration that keeps the platform active and current. This allows the website to evolve alongside the content, rather than feeling static after launch.
Supporting opportunity without disrupting the experience
Beyond the audience, the platform also needed to support partnerships, collaborations, and speaking opportunities. These elements were built into the structure of the site in a way that feels accessible but not intrusive. The intention was to make it easy for opportunities to emerge, without shifting the focus away from the content itself.
